Welcome to St. Matthew Kindergarten!
     I am very excited about the upcoming year and I hope you and your child are feeling the same way! The Kindergarten year is so special.  It is filled with wonder and discovery. Through play and hands-on experiences the children are beginning to build a solid foundation for their future school years!  My goal as your child’s teacher is to assist you in developing your child’s confidence and positive attitude toward learning.

Reminders:
- Folders- Please check your child’s backpack for this folder.  Remove any papers, sign any forms, and please return the folder to your child’s backpack for the next day.  This is also the way in which I will communicate with you, so please send me a note if you have any questions or comments and look for notes from me as well.

        
SNACKS
We have a daily morning snack.  Your child will be assigned a day in which to bring snack to share for the whole class.  Please make sure the snack is healthy and easy to pass out.  We have 19 students in our classroom.  Snacks may be store-bought or homemade.  A half-gallon of drink is usually sufficient.  This can be juice or milk.  Please do not send soda pop. You do not need to send cups.  Please save sugary snacks and refreshments for birthday treats.  Some suggestions for snacks are: muffins, pretzels, granola bars, fruit (cut-up), pudding or yogurt cups, cereal mix, graham crackers, crackers, and cheese, etc.  Because of peanut allergies, do not send peanut butter snacks to school until you have checked with me to see if we have any children with this allergy.
