FEE DAY INFORMATION AND REMINDERS: (pdf file)

It’s almost that time again. Fee Day is Monday, August 16th from 6:30am-1pm. It is important for all of you to attend. We have made some changes this year so please read this before you come.

This year we are trying to eliminate paper so we will only be providing Fee Day maps and folders to new families. All the information previously provided in the Fee Day folders will be available to you in this mailing and on the St. Matthew School website. Please take some time to go through this information before coming to Fee Day.

New Families: Welcome to St. Matthew! We look forward to meeting you. You will have a separate CheckIn table with escorts available to lead you through the process.

Lunch Form: The official hot lunch form is included in this mailing! You can save some time at Fee Day by legibly filling out your order before you come. For multiple children copy this form or print additional forms from the St. Matthew School website. To eliminate paper waste parents will no longer receive a copy of the lunch order forms (unless requested).

Fee Information: There are some changes in fees this year. There will be a $3/family fee for the new emergency call system. We have also included the Winter Carnival basket payment on the Fee Day form. We have done this to make it easier on parents. If you would like to wait until the 2nd half of the year to pay this that is okay too. The Spring Musical Fee has been changed to Music Program. For a complete list of fees you can view the Fee Day form online.

Volunteers: Volunteers are one of the things that make St. Matthew such a great school environment for the kids. Volunteering is a great way to feel connected with what is going on at the school and to meet other school families. Please sign up at Fee Day for one of the many volunteer opportunities available. Don’t forget your calendar!

Scrip: Scrip gift cards are one of our main fundraisers at St. Matthew School. Each vendor rebates a certain percentage of the gift cards back to the school. All families should stop at the Scrip table to enroll for the coming year. Please make an extra effort to include Scrip gift cards when making purchases this year. If everyone participated in Scrip it would significantly increase our fundraising dollars!

We look forward to serving as Parent Club Presidents this year. If you have any questions, you can contact us by phone (356-4978) or kapollard@sbcglobal.net. Karen and Mark Pollard

LUNCH / PLAYGROUND DUTY SIGN-UP
Each family is asked to volunteer for lunch/playground duty two times during the school year. Sign up for those dates at Fee Day.

YEARBOOK NEWS
August 16th is your lucky day..... that’s when you can order your 2010-2011 edition of The Raider. It will be filled with St. Matthew highlights of this school year. Stop by the Yearbook table at Fee Day to place your order. Your yearbook payment will be included on the Parents’ Club fee sheet. Yearbooks will be delivered in May. Don’t miss out on the memories.

ST MATTHEW APPAREL
Remember to stop by the St. Matthew apparel booth to place your order on Fee Day. New this year: St. Matthew Crest, polar fleece jacket, ladies long sleeve top and tie dye fan t-shirt! In addition to clothing you can purchase other items with the St. Matthew logo including water bottles, car magnets, and a recyclable book bag. If you don't get your order in on Fee Day you will have until August 31st to submit it. These late orders may be dropped off, with payment, in the Parent Club folder in the school office. The next opportunity to order won't be until the end of the first quarter.

NEW ST. MATTHEW FAMILIES SUPPER
If this is your first year at St. Matthew School, you and your family are invited to join us for a pizza supper on Sunday, August 15th, following the 5:15 Mass in Feeney Hall. Mrs. Klein, our school principal, will speak to you and lead you on a tour of the school. The presidents of Parent’s Club, Karen and Mark Pollard, will tell you how the organization serves the school and how you can get involved. Most importantly, St. Matthew parents will answer any questions you might have as the first day of school approaches. RSVP to Carolyn Maille-Petersen, New Families Committee Co-Chair camaillepetersen@gmail.com or call her at 352-6296 by Thursday, August 12th, if you and your family will be attending.

SAVE THE DATE
Save the date! Winter Carnival will be either January 29th or February 5th (depending on the U of I basketball schedule). Please stop by the Winter Carnival table at Fee Day to get more information and to sign up to help. If you can, please save your UNOPENED kid’s meal toys. We will collect them at Fee Day and a few weeks before the carnival.

WELCOME COFFEE
The Hospitality Committee would like to extend an invitation to all parents to a welcome coffee the first day of school. Please stop by the multi-purpose (MP) room from 8:00-9:30am on the 19th and meet new parents or say hello to old friends.
