Dr. Beto Rodrigues
Music Teacher
I was born and raised in Brazil, and I'm excited to be joining St. Matthew Catholic School as the new Music Teacher. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I truly believe it has the power to bring people together, inspire creativity, and help students grow in confidence. I recently completed my Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Performance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and before that I earned my Master's degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Louisville. Along the way, I've had the privilege of teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, and helping others discover a love for music has become one of my greatest passions. I'm also a lifelong Catholic, and my faith is a very important part of who I am. I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to combine my love for music, education, and my faith here at St. Matthew. My hope is to create a classroom where every student feels welcomed, encouraged, and inspired to use the gifts God has given them. Outside of school, I enjoy performing, arranging music, spending time with my wife, Natalia, and getting involved in the parish community. I'm truly looking forward to meeting all of you and becoming part of the St. Matthew family. I can't wait to make music together this school year!
